Grand Tulsi vivah ceremony held in Undri

On the occasion of Kartiki Ekadashi, a grand Tulsi Vivah ceremony was held in Undri’s Vitthal Mandir. Mahapuja was also held on the same day at the hands of Rajendra Bhintade, a social activist. The age old tradition of Kakad aarti was also held which was performed by Rajendra Bhintade and his wife.

The ceremony saw presence of Undri residents Machindranath Punekar, Ramesh Choudhary, Ishwar Jadhav, Subhash Purwant, Chandrashekhar Punekar, Shashikant Punekar, Sunil Kad, Rupesh Shendkar, Ganesh Wadekar, Gopi Ghule, Eknath Kad, Shankar Kawade, Uttam Kanade, Rajaram Zambre, Kiran Punekar, Dnyaneshwar Kamble, Appa Kad, Madhukar Kad, Pandurang Shitkal, Harshad Yewale, Arvind Shendkar.

Tulsi Vivah is held on the Devuthani Ekadashi, where Tulsi is married to avatar of Lord Vishnu (Shaligram / Vishnu / Krishna). This is also the end of rainy season and onset of winter season.
