Gujarat will launch the first underwater tourism venture in India in Dwarka. The first submarine tourism in India is about to be launched by the Gujarat government. In an effort to investigate marine life around Bet Dwarka, a small island off the coast of Dwarka city with mythological significance in the Hindu religion, it has partnered with the Mazgaon Dock Limited (MDL).

The project is similar to the submersible Titanic expedition, which made headlines recently when one of its ships tragically imploded in the Atlantic Ocean.

Before Diwali in 2024, the tourism facility is probably going to be operational. It will make it possible for visitors to explore the marine life surrounding the island by plunging 100 meters below the surface in a submarine.

Mythological texts claim that the location contains a submerged city that was created by Lord Krishna.

It is estimated that the submarine will weigh about 35 tonnes and be able to accommodate 30 passengers. 24 visitors will sit in two rows next to window seats at the same time so they can easily enjoy the view.

Every year, a large number of tourists flock to Dwarka because of its religious significance. One of the most important Hindu pilgrimage sites is the well-known Dwarkadhish Temple.
