Force One, the top-notch commando unit of the Maharashtra Police, recently completed a specialized training program at the College of Military Engineering (CME) in Pune. The training focused on mastering skills in dealing with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and utilizing jammers to enhance coordination between the state police and the Army.

Force One came into being following the tragic events of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. It serves as a specialized counter-terrorism commando unit fashioned after the National Security Guard (NSG). Force One’s main focus lies in safeguarding Mumbai and the neighboring areas from security threats.

“The Southern Command of the Indian Army highlighted a post mentioning that a group of 30 Force One Commandos from the Maharashtra State Police Force underwent training at the College of Military Engineering in Pune. The training covered bomb disposal techniques, IED handling, and jammer usage. This visit was a crucial move in enhancing collaboration and knowledge-sharing to boost coordination and creativity.”
