According to official sources, a team from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) visited Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s home on Monday as part of an investigation into possible money laundering.

According to the sources, the visit might have something to do with his fresh deposition in a case involving alleged land fraud, for which the ED had questioned him on January 20 at his official Ranchi residence.

The ED had issued fresh summons last week requesting Hemant Soren to confirm that he is available for questioning on January 29 or January 31.

The agency claims that the investigation is related to a “huge racket of illegal change of ownership of land by the mafia” in Jharkhand.

ED said that Hemant Soren was allegedly not at his home when they visited him on Monday, January 29, in relation to a money laundering case involving a purported land scam. However according to ED sources, Soren left his house and went to an unidentified place.

According to ED sources, the ED team arrived at Soren’s house at 7 am and began attempting to locate him.
