After the theatrical release of Khel Khel Mein last month, Akshay Kumar’s return to the comedy genre is now set for an OTT debut. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the comedy-drama, which hit theaters on August 15, 2024, features a star-studded cast including Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Pragya Jaiswal and Aditya Seal. The film is an adaptation of the 2016 Italian movie, Perfect Strangers and revolves around a dinner party that takes a chaotic turn when seven friends leave their phones in a room, leading to surprising revelations.
Khel Khel Mein marked Akshay Kumar’s return to comedy after a long hiatus but despite the hype generated by its trailer, the film struggled at the box office, earning ₹56.02 crore globally. It faced stiff competition from Stree 2 and Vedaa. However, fans are now eagerly awaiting its OTT release.
According to reports, Khel Khel Mein will stream on Netflix, with a possible release date in mid-October 2024.
