Pune: The departure of an Indigo flight bound for Bagdogra experienced a delay of more than an hour on Sunday afternoon. This occurred after all passengers had already boarded the aircraft at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata. According to the passengers, the airline notified them that the flight was delayed due to the illness of one of the co-pilots.

A passenger expressed that Indigo 6E-751 was originally planned to depart at 12.30 pm and reach Bagdogra in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal at 1.35 pm. However, due to the co-pilot falling ill, the flight was delayed for more than an hour after all the passengers had already boarded. Eventually, the aircraft took off at 1.41 pm and landed at Bagdogra at 2.43 pm. The airline was in search of a last-minute replacement, causing passengers to remain seated in the aircraft as it remained stranded on the tarmac.

Indigo made headlines once again on Wednesday due to a flight delay. The scheduled departure time for flight 6E 5149 from Chennai to Mumbai was 8 pm, but it was delayed for several hours. According to actor-comedian Kapil Sharma’s post, he and other passengers were initially asked to board the airport bus and then later the flight, but without a co-pilot.

It was reported that the co-pilot had exceeded his duty hours and failed to show up.

Consequently, the airline had to find a last-minute replacement, resulting in the delay.
