The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has allocated land to industries across the state In the last eighteen months.
Approximately 1.83 crore square meters of land have been distributed, signaling a significant boost to the industrial landscape.
Marathwada, particularly Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, has seen substantial growth, with 66,055 square meters allocated to eleven companies. Nanded follows closely with 1,58,832 square meters allotted to nine companies.
Amravati and Nagpur have emerged as key areas for industrial expansion, with a combined area of 9,95,848 square meters allocated. This surge in industrial activity has attracted a whopping investment of Rs 58,194 crores, paving the way for economic growth and employment opportunities.
Over the past eighteen months, a total of 74,446 jobs have been created within the state, thanks to the industries established on MIDC-allotted lands. Nagpur takes the lead in job creation with 23,481 individuals finding employment, closely followed by Pune with 16,455 jobs generated. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar’s industries have contributed jobs to 2100 people.
Pune remains a dominant industrial hub, with land allocated to 73 industries within the Pune-1 circle.
Nagpur and Dhule have also secured allocations for 54 industries each, while Amravati and Thane-2 accommodate 50 and 40 industries respectively. Other regions like Ratnagiri, Panvel, and Kolhapur have also seen industrial growth with allocations to 27, 20, and 15 industries respectively.
The investment influx of around Rs 58,194 crores has been significant, with Nagpur leading the way with Rs 25,957 crores, followed by Panvel with Rs 17,499 crores. Pune-1, Thane-2, Sangli, Amravati, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar have also seen considerable investments.
The MIDC’s allocation of land to industries has not only spurred economic growth but has also created thousands of job opportunities across various regions of Maharashtra.
