Pune : The residents of Tuscan Kharadi and nearby societies have come together to establish a charitable organization called ‘Little Hearts Initiative.’ The primary objective of this group is to distribute food to needy individuals.

This initiative will be an ongoing effort, with contributions from its own members, and has plans for future expansion. The mission of the Little Hearts group is to address the significant issue of hunger and the resulting deaths caused by starvation.

It is disheartening to witness millions of people worldwide going to sleep without a proper meal while a lot of food is wasted. The key members of the team, including Shiv Sahni, MR Agrawal, Dr Umesh Bakane, Renu Sugla, Surbhi Agrawal, Shaina Rajendran, and Aditi Kulkarni, among others, have expressed their strong desire to transform this mission into a widespread revolution, with the support of all 80 current members.

As per the information received, they hope to continue this enthusiasm by recruiting additional individuals to join the cause. The first food distribution drive took place on World Food Day, where over 200 individuals in need were provided meals.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dr Umesh Bakane added, ”Through this initiative, many kids of age between 4 and 8 and a few adults were given meals. Around 200 to 250 people were given food on this day.”

Another resident, Shiv Sahni added, ”The main aim of this initiative is to provide food to all the starving people. We went to the labour camp and distributed freshly cooked meals. We are aiming to do this every month.”

Another resident, Renu Sugla added, ”We collected around Rs 75,000 from all the members of society and provided meals to the starving people. This was done with the help of the Robinhood Army. The entire food that was distributed was cooked by a vegetable vendor. More than 200 people were present and had volunteered. We are aiming to do this every month.”
