Satara, Nov 6 : Maharashtra government will set up an international standard tourism spot in Munawale of Satara district, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said here 

on Sunday.

“An international standard tourist destination with all facilities is being developed at Munawale in Javali tehsil of Satara district, which will create a huge employment for the locals of 105 villages in Satara district”, said Shinde.


Inspecting the site, Shinde stated the local youths should get employment, and at the same time, locals should also use the tourist destination for the economic development of the region. Local people should be included while developing this tourist destination as there were great opportunities for tourism. Therefore, more tourism projects will be set up in Kandati Valley, which will benefit locals.

Shinde said various facilities including Scuba Diving, Banana Ride, Jet Ski, House boat, Biloat club and others will be provided to tourists
District collector Jitendra Doody, Chief Executive officer Dnyaneshwar Khilari, along with administrative officers were present on the occasion.


While speaking on local villagers’ issues, Shinde said permission should be given for fishing, and fish seeds should be released in the reservoir. He also suggested to the Collector to take up the issue of additional land acquired by holding a special camp.
