Maharashtra: Nine Women Injured as Building Portion Collapses During Immersion Procession in Bhandara
Bhandara: During the Ganesh immersion procession in Barwa village, Lakhandur taluka, Bhandara, on Wednesday evening, a portion of an old building collapsed, injuring nine women. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. when a crowd had gathered on the roof of the building along the main market road to watch the procession. The structure, unable to handle the load, gave way, but a tin shed below helped prevent a larger tragedy.

A local resident remarked that without the tin shed, 35 to 40 people could have been in danger.
Among the injured, six women sustained minor injuries, while three others, including a teenage girl, were seriously hurt. The mildly injured were taken to a nearby health center for treatment, and the more serious cases were transferred to a hospital in Lakhandur. Medical authorities confirmed that those with minor injuries are out of danger.
