Pune News: Two Arrested After Shooting Incident At Mall In Wakad Over Labor Dispute
Wakad – In a shocking incident on Anant Chaturdashi, two men were arrested for firing shots at the Phoenix Mall in Wakad due to a labor-related dispute. This is the second shooting in the Wakad police jurisdiction in just five days, raising concerns about public safety.

A tense situation unfolded this evening at Phoenix Mall of the Millennium in Wakad, Pimpri-Chinchwad, when a man fired a shot at the mall.

The accused, identified as Akshay alias Bala Lahu Shinde (30), a notorious criminal with a history of theft and assault, and his accomplice, Ranjit Nathuram Salgar (24), were arrested following the incident. The dispute arose when Shinde, formerly employed as a foreman at the mall, demanded that certain laborers under him be given work as Mathadi workers. Frustrated when his demand was not met, Shinde arrived at the mall in a white car, confronted a laborer, and fired shots.
The incident was captured on CCTV, and Wakad police swiftly responded, arresting Shinde and Salgar. No injuries were reported, and the police are continuing their investigation.
