Shock and grief gripped Dharashiv district in Maharashtra on Monday when Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Mohan Jadhav suddenly collapsed and died while participating in Republic Day celebrations. 

The incident occurred during the flag-hoisting ceremony organized by the State Excise Department in Umarga town, leaving colleagues and locals stunned. A video capturing the moment of his collapse has also surfaced on social media, intensifying the sense of loss.

PSI Jadhav, a well-respected officer, was standing in line with fellow staff members to salute the national flag when he reportedly felt dizzy and fell. In the process, he hit his head, sustaining a serious injury.

 Immediate medical attention was provided, and he was rushed to a private hospital in Umarga. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he was declared dead on arrival. Preliminary reports suggest that a severe heart attack was the primary cause of death.

Eyewitnesses described the chaotic moments following the collapse, as colleagues tried urgently to assist the officer. The sudden loss has left the police community and local residents mourning, as PSI Jadhav was known for his dedication and professionalism within the department.

Authorities are gathering more details about the incident and are expected to announce the official arrangements for the late officer.
