In response to the escalating temperatures in Maharashtra, the Director of Primary and Secondary Education has proposed granting attendance concessions to students across all schools in the state. The proposal, approved by the School Education Department, will come into effect from Monday, April 22, offering relief to students amidst the scorching heat.

Tushar Mahajan, Deputy Secretary of the School Education Department, has issued directives outlining the implementation of the attendance relaxation. Concerns for student well-being have prompted this decision, considering the recent rise in temperatures. As a precautionary measure, students will be exempted from attending classes across all schools in the state.

Additionally, schools under other educational boards or those engaged in significant educational activities must exercise discretion in implementing attendance concessions. Both the Director of Primary Education and the Director of Secondary Education will ensure strict compliance with these directives.

This proactive measure aims to prioritize the health and safety of students during the prevailing heatwave. With the approval of the proposal, students can expect relief from attendance requirements, allowing them to better manage the challenges posed by adverse weather conditions.
