Heat to Rise Across Maharashtra as Unseasonal Rainfall Subsides, Says IMD

Maharashtra, April 7, 2026: After days of unseasonal rainfall across the state, the India Meteorological Department has indicated that weather conditions in Maharashtra are stabilising, with a gradual increase in temperatures expected in the coming days.

The recent spell of untimely rain had caused significant damage to crops in several regions. With the system now weakening, dry and warmer conditions are likely to prevail across the state.

Konkan Region to Remain Hot and Humid

The coastal Konkan belt, including Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Palghar, is expected to experience hot and humid weather.

Maximum temperatures in Mumbai are likely to range between 29°C and 34°C, with high humidity levels making conditions uncomfortable.

Western Maharashtra Sees Rising Temperatures

In western Maharashtra, cities such as Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur are likely to witness a noticeable rise in temperatures.

Pune is expected to record maximum temperatures between 32°C and 34°C. Residents are advised to avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours.

Temperature Increase in North Maharashtra

Districts in North Maharashtra, including Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, and Ahilyanagar, are also expected to see rising temperatures, with Nashik likely to record between 30°C and 32°C.

Dry and Warm Conditions in Marathwada

The Marathwada region, including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, and Dharashiv, is expected to remain hot and dry, with temperatures ranging between 32°C and 34°C.

Vidarbha Likely to Record Highest Temperatures

Vidarbha is likely to be the hottest region, with cities such as Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Washim, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Buldhana expected to record maximum temperatures between 34°C and 36°C.

Advisory for Citizens

With temperatures rising again, residents are advised to take precautions while stepping outdoors, especially during afternoon hours, to avoid heat-related health issues.
