Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad will hold the largest horse and native cattle exhibition in Maharashtra to convey the message of cattle conservation.
It is an opportunity for animal keepers in Maharashtra to participate in the initiative.
As per information, on the occasion of the birthday of MLA Mahesh Landge, who successfully fought to lift the ban on bullock cart racing, the initiative of the All India Bullock Cart Association will be held at the International Industrial Exhibition Center in Moshi.
On November 25 and November 26, the Grand Indigenous Cattle Exhibition and Cattle Health Camp will be held.
It is India’s first domestic cattle show with all breeds of horse and cattle and a ‘Ramp Walk’ of 17 types of animals along with a health camp. Breed-wise competition will be held for various breeds of cattle like Devni, Khillar, Lal Kandhari, Sahiwal, Lal Sindhi, Gir, Ongole, and Vechur. First, second, and third places will be drawn in the competition. A ‘ramp walk’ for cattle is going to be organized, a first of its kind in India to spread the message of cow conservation at the grassroots level. Also, students of government and non-government schools in Pune district should visit this exhibition so that future generations will also know the importance of cow breeding. Last year more than 250 cattle participated in a single show called Khillar. This year, the organizers have estimated that one and a half thousand animals of various indigenous species will participate in the exhibition.
