Major accident : Speeding pick-up truck collides with two-wheeler on Ahmednagar-Kalyan Highway; Two fatalities reported

PUNE: In a horrific incident, a speeding pickup truck collided with a two-wheeler as well as a pedestrian on the Nagar-Kalyan Highway in Pune district.
As per the information provided, the woman on the bike and the pedestrian lost their lives, while the biker sustained severe injuries. The injured man was promptly taken to a hospital in Alephata for medical treatment. This unfortunate incident took place in the Otur area on the Nagar-Kalyan Highway on Wednesday evening.
As per the information received, this accident has caused commotion in the vicinity. The deceased individuals have been identified as Rutuja Ashok Dumbre (19) and Savita Geetaram Tambe (45). The injured person has been identified as Geetaram Namdev Tambe (52).
According to the police, the deceased, Rutuja Dumbre, was walking towards her home. At the same time, Geetaram Tambe and his wife Savita were travelling towards Alephata on a two-wheeler. Suddenly, a speeding pickup truck collided with them
Unfortunately, the pedestrian and the woman on the bike died on the spot while the driver of the bike sustained severe injuries. Later, the pickup truck overturned on the opposite side of the road, and the driver fled from the scene. The Otur police are currently in search of the driver.
