Pune Pulse - Major Accident : ST bus collides with container on Mumbai Goa Highway; One fatality reported, 19 injured
PUNE:Â On the Mumbai-Goa highway, a collision occurred between a State Transport bus and a container. The incident transpired when the ST bus collided with the container at Repoli near Mangaon at approximately 4:30 am.
As per the information received, one fatality is reported in the accident, and 19 passengers sustained injuries, two of whom are in critical condition and are presently receiving medical attention. The remaining injured passengers of the bus are receiving treatment at the sub-district hospital in Mangaon.
As per the information provided, bus was enroute to Rajapur from Mumbai when the accident occurred, resulting in severe damage to the front of the bus. Coincidentally, numerous individuals from Mumbai were traveling to their hometowns for Ganeshotsav.
Upon receiving information of the accident, the traffic police promptly arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations. Following the incident, there was temporary traffic jam on the highway, but traffic has since returned to normal.
