Major Train accident averted at Talegaon in Pune : Gwalior Daund Superfast Express Caught Fire ; no casualties reported

Pune, December 3, 2023: Passengers in  Train number 22194, the Gwalior – Daund Superfast Express, experienced a scary incident as the train caught fire near Talegaon. The alarming situation led to panic among passengers, leading to passengers jumping out of the train. 

 A passenger took to social media and shared the incident.  Shekhar Kumar, posted a photo Informing the public about the incident. 

He mentioned ,”Train 22194 Sushasan Express caught up Fire near Talegaon Pune station. Passengers got panic and jumped off.”

DRM Pune on the incident tweeted stating that further action will be taken. Soon after the incident was reported, the DRM Pune stated that the train has departed as the fire was contained. 

 The Gwalior- Daund Superfast Express had come to a halt at TGN station around 4.36 pm, reporting smoke emanating from the rear SLR (NC205707/C) due to brake binding. The dedicated efforts of the railway staff saw the fire extinguished at 4.55 pm, with brake pressure released and rectified by the C&W staff at 6 pm.
