PUNE: MONTI FEST is a significant Catholic festival that is observed annually on 8 September by the Latin Catholic community of Konkani people. This festival commemorates the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and, in the Mangalorean Catholic community, involves the blessing of Novem (new crops).

Every year, this year too, all the Mangalorean families congregated under the auspices of the Mangalorean Catholic Association, Pune, and celebrated the Monti Fest 2023 with great joy and enthusiasm on 10th September at Christ the King Church, Sainikwadi, Pune.

As per the information provided, Inma and Anil Fernandes cordially welcomed the guests in the traditional Mangalorean manner with Panpod and Udak (beetel leaf and water). The MCA Treasurer, Nishant D’souza, extended a warm welcome to the guests, priests, and religious. Fr.
