On 16th February (Friday), the Maratha Kranti Morcha held a Rasta Roko protest in the Dehu Road area.

As per further information, on behalf of the Maratha Kranti Morcha, a Rasta Roko protest was held at Kiwale Dehu Road, leading to the Mumbai Pune Expressway, for the demand of reservation for the Maratha community. Around 50 protestors are in police custody.

The bandh has garnered backing from the Maratha Kranti Morcha and Sakal Maratha Samaj, prompting a scheduled rally within the city on Wednesday. This action follows previous demonstrations in Mumbai, where Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had initially agreed to the demands of Patil and his associates, leading to the withdrawal of their hunger strike and suspension of agitation.

The objectives now include the conversion of issued ordinances into law, withdrawal of cases against reservation protests across Maharashtra, and the fulfillment of promises made to the Maratha community. Patil’s ongoing hunger strike underscores the urgency for a special legislative session.

Wednesday’s city shutdown aims for peaceful advocacy, with a significant two-wheeler and four-wheeler rally organized by the Sakal Maratha Samaj of Pimpri-Chinchwad city and Maval taluka. Starting with a tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Dange Chowk Thergaon, the rally will proceed through various landmarks including Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk, Chinchwad Station, and Vadgaon.
