In the next three months, a mechanical system will be in place for cleaning of septic tanks and the need for workers to do it manually will be eradicated, said Chandrakant Indalkar, deputy commissioner, Urban development department, PCMC.
“We have taken this decision keeping in mind the safety of the workers. Cleaning equipment and other related things will be provided to the workers,” he said.
