Mini Bus Falls Into Valley In Varandha Ghat; 1 Dead, Four Injured - Pune pulse
A terrible accident took place in the midnight of 8th October when a mini bus fell into a deep ravine in Varandha Ghat on Bhor-Mahad route.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Lata Phad, superintendent, Highway State Police Office, Maharashtra, said “The accident took place at around 2:30 am on 8 October. The driver of the bus, while taking a turn on the Bhor to Mahad route on Varandha Ghat, lost control of the vehicle & the mini bus fell into a deep ravine. 9 passengers were travelling in the mini bus. All are safe but the driver is dead.”
As per further information, a 17-seater minibus was traveling from Swargate in Pune to Konkan via Bhor. The bus reached Varandha ghat at 2:00 am. At the turn, the driver of the bus lost control and crashed into a tree. The bus then fell into a ravine 50 feet deep in the backwater area of Nira – Deoghar Dam. Fortunately, the 9 passengers were able to get out of the bus safely.
