Actor Mona Singh, currently promoting her upcoming horror-comedy film ‘Munjya,’ shared a spooky encounter she experienced in Pune. During a recent interview, she recounted a chilling incident that left her deeply unsettled.

“One night, while returning home on my scooty, I crossed the Bund Garden Bridge, a famous spot in Pune. At the bridge’s beginning, a girl asked for a lift,” Singh recalled. Feeling uneasy about giving a lift to a stranger at night, she decided to drive on. To her surprise, the same girl appeared at the other end of the bridge, again asking for a lift. “It was a chilling experience,” she admitted.

Singh went on to discuss her belief in the existence of negative and positive energies. She mentioned, “There are people who practice black magic, evidenced by sightings of lemons, chilies, and dolls on streets. It’s best not to engage with these practices to avoid unnecessary risks.”

Talking about her role in ‘Munjya,’ Singh shared insights into her character. “I’m playing Pammi in the film. Abhay is portraying Bittu, my son, and I’m his mother, who is pretty strict and possessive about him. Our journey together is filled with twists and turns, with plenty of drama and chaos. My character is a lot of fun, a bit loud and feisty, and it’s hardcore comedy, something I’ve never attempted before.”

‘Munjya,’ directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, stars Sharvari, Mona Singh, Abhay Verma, and Sathyaraj. The film revolves around ‘Munjya,’ a myth rooted in Indian belief and cultural systems. The recently released teaser introduces Munjya, a CGI character, in a remote forest, springing into action upon hearing the popular song ‘Munni Badnam Hui’ from Salman Khan’s 2010 blockbuster ‘Dabangg.’

The screenplay of ‘Munjya’ has been developed by Yogesh Chandekar and Niren Bhatt, with music composed by Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya. The film is scheduled for release on June 7.
