In a significant development, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw provided a compelling update on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad train corridor, famously known as the ‘Bullet train.’ Taking to X on February 12, Minister Vaishnaw shared a video unveiling the advanced features of this ambitious project, creating a buzz ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet train is poised to cover a distance of 508 km, boasting an impressive maximum speed of 320 kilometres per hour. A game-changer in the realm of Indian railways, the project aims to slash travel time between the two bustling cities to a mere two hours.

A revolutionary slab track system, a first-of-its-kind technology in India, is set to be a prominent feature of this cutting-edge corridor.

What makes this Bullet train even more remarkable is its incorporation of an early earthquake detection system, ensuring the safety and security of passengers.

The infrastructural marvel includes the construction of 24 river bridges, 28 steel bridges, and seven mountain tunnels along the route. An engineering feat, a seven-kilometre-long undersea tunnel is a standout feature, adding an element of awe to the project.

With a commitment to delivering a seamless travel experience, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet train corridor will house 12 stations equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

As the Railways Minister teased, “Stay tuned for #BulletTrain in Modi 3.0!,” the anticipation for this high-speed revolution in rail travel builds, promising a transformative journey for passengers in the near future.
