Mumbai listed among top 15 favourite cities in Asia for 2024; Udaipur tops the list

Udaipur city in India led the list of culturally rich cities of reader favourites across Asia this year

Every year Travel + Leisure (L+T) magazine conducts its World’s Best Awards survey to gather opinion on travel experiences around the globe.

Over 186,000 T+L readers completed the 2024 survey. They shared their views on hotels, cities, cruises, spas, airlines, islands etc.

From modern metropolises to ancient capitals, L+T readers embraced the diversity of Asia in their picks for favourite cities in the region. Cities were rated on the criteria such as sights/landmarks, culture, food, friendliness, shopping and value.

Udaipur city in India led the list of culturally rich cities of reader favourites across Asia this year. Additionally, three more Indian cities featured in the list including Mumbai, Kolkata and Jaipur.

Meanwhile, other cities such as Vietnam’s ancient Hoi An to Cambodia’s Siem Reap, the gateway to the Khmer temples of Angkor Wat also made it to the list. Readers also favoured Japan and Thailand awarding each country two finishers.
