Maharashtra NCP president Jayant Patil said on Monday that the party’s doors are open to all who went along with Ajit Pawar, except the nine MLAs who joined the Eknath Shinde ministry and took oath on Sunday.

Talking to the media here, he said, “We will wait for them for some time, and thereafter, we will have to take action against them.”

He further said the MLAs who accompanied Ajit Pawar are contacting party chief Sharad Pawar and him, saying that they have done so under duress.

Patil further said that Sharad Pawar has called a meeting at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan in Mumbai on 5 July, where all office-bearers and workers will be present.

Those who are with Pawar Senior and support him will be there, he clarified.

On the disqualification of nine MLAs, Patil said, “The moment they took oath, they were disqualified.”

Replying to a question, he said, “We will have to wait for a few days. We do not want any conflict with the Congress party. Barring nine MLAs, all the MLAs are still with us. The Speaker of the Assembly will make a decision based on the numbers.”
