When a customer questioned Swiggy about the delay in his food order on a Tuesday evening, the last response he expected was to be told it was due to ‘weekend peak hour.’ This perplexing explanation from Swiggy’s customer support left him scratching his head and prompted him to share his frustration on social media.

Taking to the ‘Delhi’ subreddit, the customer posted a screenshot of his chat with a Swiggy customer care executive.

The response he received stated, “As it is a weekend peak hour, the restaurant is facing heavy demand due to which there is a slight delay in your order. Request you to wait for some time and the order will be delivered to you at the earliest.”

Given that it was only 5 p.m. on a Tuesday, the explanation seemed completely unreasonable. 

The internet wasted no time in reacting to the bizarre exchange. Many users found humor in the situation, with some suggesting that the customer service representative was simply hitting the copy-paste button.

Others joked about the concept of wishing for the weekend on the second day of the week.

“Wishing for weekend on the second day of week itself….well I don’t blame him. “

Some users speculated that it might have been a bot responding to the query, while others shared their own grievances about Swiggy’s service.
