A tragic incident unfolded on the Nashik Pune Highway as a private comfort bus belonging to Mahakali Travels, bearing registration number MH 14 CW 9072, plunged off a bridge at Gonde Phata in Sinnar Taluka. According to preliminary information provided by the Vavi police, one passenger lost their life, while 34 others sustained injuries during the early morning journey from Pune to Nashik.

The injured individuals were swiftly transported to a private hospital in Sinnar for urgent medical treatment. Prompt response from the Vavi Police Station, led by Assistant Police Inspector Sandesh Pawar, Police Sub-Inspector Devidas Lad, Nitin Kadam, and their colleagues, as well as highway police, played a crucial role. Within minutes of the accident, ambulances from Nandurshingote and Sinnar reached the scene, facilitated by the assistance of local villagers and law enforcement personnel. The deceased passenger has been identified as Kashyap Mukeshbhai Pathak (35) from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, as confirmed by the police.
