Pune: The Indian Railways is all set to launch a Vande Bharat Sleeper train service between New Delhi and Pune, marking a major step in enhancing long-distance travel with speed and comfort. This initiative is part of the broader rollout of sleeper variants of the semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains on major national routes.

Route and Distance
The train will run between New Delhi (NDLS) and Pune via Agra Cantt, covering approximately 1,589 kilometers. The total journey time is expected to be around 20 hours.

Key Halts
The Vande Bharat Sleeper will stop at several major junctions, including:

  • Mathura
  • Agra Cantt
  • Gwalior
  • Bhopal Junction
  • Khandwa
  • Bhusaval Junction

Train Configuration and Speed
With a top speed of 160 kmph, this will be the fastest train on the New Delhi–Pune corridor. The train will consist of 16 coaches:

Estimated Fare Structure

  • AC 3-tier: ₹2,500
  • AC 2-tier: ₹4,000

  • New Delhi to Pune: Departs at 4:30 PM, arrives at 1:00 AM (next day)
  • Pune to New Delhi: Departs at 3:00 PM, arrives at 11:30 AM (next day)
