Pune: Nanoli near Lonavla witnessed a tough battle among 40 car auto cross competitors from Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Bangalore, Chikmagalur, and Hyderabad, as they competed in the first Indian National Auto Cross 2023 of the season.

Nikita Takale Khadsare from Pune emerged as the star of the event, bagging an impressive nine trophies in the Faster Driver and various categories.

Nikita’s skill in controlling her car was evident as she recorded a low time when the track was covered in mud and stones, earning her the title of the fastest driver by taking just 1 minute and 13 seconds. Despite the pressure of competing in her hometown, Nikita’s father entrepreneur Nitin Takale and her mother’s guidance helped her stay focused and showcase an outstanding performance.

Having participated in many rallies across the country and abroad, Nikita’s achievement in the Mumbai Express Indian National Auto Cross is noteworthy. She plans to continue her winning streak by representing Pune Maharashtra in the upcoming Hyderabad Auto Cross and Arunachal Rally Main.

Nikita’s dedication to the sport and passion for representing India has earned her a spot as the only woman from India in the upcoming Asia Pacific Rally Championship to be held in Indonesia. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed, and Nikita’s success has put the spotlight on Maharashtra as she strives to bring glory to her state.

The two-day event featured over 14 groups of events, including veteran riders, and newcomers like Nikita who proved that skill and determination can lead to triumph. As the Indian National Auto Cross 2023 season kicks off, all eyes are on the next generation of drivers who will continue to showcase India’s talent in the motorsport world.
