Shiv Sena legislator, Manisha Kayande, has called for the telecast of the reality show “Bigg Boss” to be stopped, claiming that a recent episode contained obscene content. Kayande, who is also the spokesperson for the ruling Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, met with Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar to make this demand.

On Monday, July 22, Shiv Sena secretary and spokesperson, MLA Dr. Manisha Kayande, urged urgent action against Bigg Boss OTT 3, demanding that the show’s transmission be halted. She criticized participant Armaan Malik for what she described as ‘vulgar’ material. Kayande cited an episode aired on July 18. It showed Malik and his second wife, Kritika Malik, appearing to share an intimate moment under the covers in the Bigg Boss bedroom.

Manisha Kayande stated, “The couple trampled upon all boundaries of human relations and social norms. Even kids watch the show and it impacts them. The show should be stopped and a case should be filed under cyber crime laws against the show producers and the CEO of the company that airs it.”

She emphasized that “Bigg Boss is no longer a family show” and that Armaan Malik and Kritika Malik had “crossed all the limits.”

The demand for a ban on the show came amidst differing viewer interpretations of the footage. Some viewers saw the footage as an intimate moment. Others suggested that the video clip might be edited content spliced from the international version of the show, Big Brother.
