No parking; no halting in Wagholi for private travel buses
Traffic jams at Kesnand Phata petrol pump occur daily due to travel agency buses stopping to pick up passengers. Rohidas Pawar has issued a temporary order preventing halting or parking for travel from Wagheshwar Chowk, Kesnand Phata to Bakori Phata.
Private tour buses in Wagholi stop on the highway in the evening and at night to pick up passengers, which leads to traffic congestion. Travel buses from Wagheshwar Chowk, Kesnand Phata to Bakori Phata are not allowed to stop or park till further notice.
The deputy commissioner of the Pune traffic department, Rohidas Pawar, issued the directive. The public should submit any objections or recommendations in writing to the Yerawada Traffic Deputy Commissioner’s Office by June 18.
At Kesnand Phata, the road that leads to the city side is rather small. Private travel services carry a significant number of travellers from Pune to Nagar, Marathwada, Vidarbha, and Khandesh daily; the Bharat Petrol Pump serves as the pickup location. Every day from evening to night, traffic jams occur in front of the petrol pump at Kesnand Phata as a result of travel agency buses stopping to pick up passengers.
Hence, Pawar has issued a temporary order that no halting or parking will be done for travel from Wagheshwar Chowk, Kesnand Phata to Bakori Phata. After considering the suggestions and objections of the citizens, the final order will be issued excluding the vehicles of essential services (fire brigade, police vehicles, ambulance etc).
