Over 150 residents of NIBM Undri road society stay without power for 15 hours

Pune: Residents of Vedant Society in the NIBM area are in distress as frequent electricity cuts have engulfed the society, leading to various issues.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Zuzer Kapadia, a resident of Vedant Society, NIBM said, “The society had been living without electricity since 5.30 p.m. on Friday with repeated complaints given to the MSEB. We were left without power for 15 hours i.e. from 5:30 p.m. on Friday to 8:30 a.m. on Saturday (November 11). We were left without a water supply for 15 hours as we had an electricity water motor. Our electricity appliances also are getting damaged due to these frequent power cut issues. Power came back at 8:30 a.m. & got cut at 10:30 a.m. and came back at around 11:45 a.m. Now again it has gone off. No serious action has been taken from the MSEB to ensure that electricity never gets cut.”

Stanley Pillay, a resident of Vedant Society, NIBM said, “The power cut issue has been happening for a long time. This has become a serious issue. Since Friday evening, there has been no electricity in the society due to which the water supply was affected. Everyone had put complaints to the MSEB but nothing had been done. It’s happening frequently as the electricity supply goes off several times at night for our society.”

Ashwini Rane, a resident of Vedant Society, NIBM said, “From 15 hours, we were facing electricity cut issues. 100 times, we complained to the MSEB but no one picked up the call. We were left without water for 15 hours. Power came back at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday but went off quickly again.”

Nishikant Raut, PRO, MSEDCL Pune, said “We have been constantly checking for power issues at Vedant Society. Local LT (Low Tension) i.e. voltage of the electricity supply of the society might have developed problems. We are trying to fix the power issues of the society & soon it should resolve.”
