Over 59,000 E-vehicles ply on Pune roads

Pune: Puneites are slowly preferring electric vehicles as the number of electric vehicles has crossed the mark of 59,000 in the city.
As per the data shared by Sanjeev Bhor, Deputy Commissioner, RTO Pune, there are more than 59 thousand electric vehicles of various kinds being used in Pune.
With the changing times, Pune citizens are also embracing it and adapting to electric vehicles. Additionally, environment-friendly vehicles are being rewarded on a large scale by the central government through subsidies and other schemes.
Therefore, in addition to CNG and fuel vehicles, Pune residents are now focusing on buying electric vehicles. Sports bikes, mopeds and even luxury cars are getting electric. So, Pune riders are focusing on buying such electric vehicles.
Among electric vehicles, the number of two-wheelers is the largest followed by four-wheelers. Along with them, e-buses, and e-rickshaws are also being bought well in Pune city. However, electric trucks are not yet registered in Pune RTO.
