Parents Demand Cancellation Of Illegal Engineering Admissions

Parents of engineering aspirants have demanded the cancellation of alleged illegal admissions to institutional-level and management quota seats in 12 reputed colleges in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. An investigation by the State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) and Technical Education Department revealed irregularities in the admission process.

The probe found that colleges failed to disclose institute-level seats on their websites and violated admission rules. This has raised concerns over transparency and fairness in the admission process. Evidence shows students with remarkably low percentiles – as low as 4, 11, 13, and 21 – secured coveted computer science seats at VIT college.

Yuva Sena’s Kalpesh Yadav has extended support to the parents. “CET Cell should cancel illegal admissions and conduct a fresh process,” Yadav emphasized. “Meritorious students deserve justice.” The parents are seeking justice for their children who were denied admission despite meeting the eligibility criteria.

The parents have made three key demands: cancellation of illegal admissions, a special round for meritorious students, and a fresh admission process for affected seats. With the admission process extended until October 23, parents urge the CET Cell to take immediate action.

The CET Cell’s prompt action is awaited to address these concerns and ensure fairness in the admission process. Parents and students remain hopeful that their demands will be met, and meritorious students will receive the opportunities they deserve. The issue has sparked widespread concern among parents and students, highlighting the need for greater transparency in engineering admissions.
