Pune News: Crime Branch Unit 5 Arrests Accused In Vehicle Vandalism Case From WanowrieÂ
On September 30, 2024, officers and police personnel from Crime Branch Unit 5 were patrolling the area under their jurisdiction to prevent criminal activity. During this patrol, they apprehended a wanted suspect, Akshay Santosh Rakh, aged 19, a resident of Sanket Vihar, Kalepadal, Hadapsar, who was involved in a vehicle vandalism case registered under Wanwadi Police Station. The case was filed under sections 324(4), 189(2), 191(2), and 190 of the Indian Penal Code, along with sections 37(1)(3) and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
The accused had been on the wanted list for his involvement in the crime. Once arrested, he was handed over to Wanwadi Police Station for further legal proceedings.
This operation was carried out under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime 1), Ganesh Ingle, and Senior Police Inspector of Crime Branch Unit 5, Yuvraj Hande, along with other officers and personnel. The successful apprehension highlights the dedicated efforts of the police in curbing criminal activities in the region and ensuring public safety.
