Pune: Many citizens have raised concerns regarding the massive pollution of the Pawana river.

The river flowing through the city has once again suffered from pollution. At Kejubai Dam in Thergaon, citizens noticed a large amount of foam floating on the river. For a moment it seems that this is not the Pawana river but the icy river of the Himalayas.

Despite repeated complaints by social organizations to the Municipal Corporation, there has been no solution to the issue so far. Therefore, a question mark is being raised on the efficiency of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) towards tackling pollution.

As per information, water pollution at Pawana is a major issue and is causing headaches for the administration as well as the general public. The river flowing through Pimpri-Chinchwad has come into the limelight due to massive water pollution because of its frothy chemical-laden water. Foamy water is seen in the water flowing from Kejubai Dam in Thergaon and the bed of Pawana river is covered with foam.

Several residents claim that although the foam has been there for the last three days, it has now inflated to the point where it resembles a layer of snow. The residents claimed that despite their complaints, neither the PCMC nor the MPCB officials were able to locate the source of the pollution.
