PCMC GB approves Rs 16 crores for building of new court premises

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s general body meeting held today on December 29, 2021 approved funds of Rs 16 crores for construction of Pimpri Chinchwad Court .

The PCMC mayor Usha Dhore informed about the decision. The proposal was put forth today as the existing building at Morwadi in Pimpri Chinchwad is small and faces severe difficulties to the court officials. The PCMC has identified an area of 16 acres in Survey No 14 in Pimpri Chinchwad New Development Authority in Moshi. The funds of Rs 16 crores was sanctioned for development of this building. The decision was taken in presence of Namdev Dhake, Adv nitin Landge of standing committee, Pimpri Chinchwad Bar Association president Adv Sachin Thopte, Adv Atish Landage, Adv Sanjay Datir, Adv Dinkar Barne, Adv Gaurav Walunj and Adv Nikhil Bodke.

Mayor in her speech said, ‘At present the space allotted has an incomplete compound too. We have been consistently following up with the officials at the state government but there has been no positive response. The proposal for the new building has over 82 court rooms, which will have District Court, Junior Division Civil Court, Senior Division Civil Court, Motor Vehicle Accident Court, Family Court, Cooperative Court, Labour Court, Judges residential quarters, etc. At present in the Morwadi court, 2926 civil suits, 48632 criminal cases, a total of 51,558 cases are pending. Presently at the Morwadi court every month 5 civil suits and 15 – 16 criminal cases are being resolved. The present court lacks adequate parking space too.
