Pimpri: BJP Hosts Ganga Pujan and Cleanliness Drives to Mark Ahilyadevi Holkar's 300th Birth Anniversary
To commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Rajmata Ahilyadevi Holkar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a series of religious and social events across Pimpri Chinchwad city. The initiatives included Ganga Pujan and Riverfront Cleanliness Drives in Pimple Saudagar, Juni Sangvi, and Kalewadi, highlighting Holkar’s lifelong dedication to public welfare, temple construction, and conservation of water bodies.
The events were led by BJP Pimpri Chinchwad City President Shatrughna (Bapu) Kate and program convener Vijay alias Sheetal Shinde. Joining them were BJP Yuva Morcha President Raj Tapkir, Gorakhnath Zhol, Manoj Brahmankar, Sanjay Bhise, Kundatai Bhise, Sandeep Kate, and several enthusiastic citizens.
A grand Maha-aarti was held at the Mahadev Temple in Pimple Saudagar, followed by Ganga Pujan and a riverfront cleanliness drive, echoing Ahilyadevi’s devotion to religious causes and environmental preservation. Participants actively engaged in the program, spreading the message of river sanctity and ecological awareness.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP City President Shatrughna Kate stated, “Ahilyadevi Holkar not only built temples but also recognized the spiritual and practical value of clean water bodies. These programs are a reflection of her values, and through them, we aim to instill her ideals in our community.”
Cleanliness Initiative at Juni Sangvi
In Juni Sangvi, a dedicated cleanliness drive took place at the Gramdevat Vetal Maharaj Temple and Vetal Maharaj Ganesh Visarjan Ghat. The activity was jointly organized by Maharashtra Pradesh BJP and the Pimpri Chinchwad City District BJP under the leadership of MLA Shankar Jagtap and City President Kate.
The event saw participation from local leaders including Corporator Santosh Kamble, Mandal Vice President Yuvraj Dhore, BJP Secretary Hiren Sonawane, Senate Member Krishnaji Bhandalkar, and several booth chiefs and committee members. BJP Mandal President Ganesh Dhore expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the effort, emphasizing the drive as a tribute to Ahilyadevi Holkar’s enduring legacy of social service.
Kalewadi Observes Cleanliness Drive and Pujan
In Kalewadi, under the leadership of City President Shatrughna Kate and guidance of MLA Shankar Jagtap, the Chinchwad – Kalewadi Mandal of the BJP organized a special cleanliness drive and Pavanamai Aarti at the Ganesh Visarjan Ghat.
Notable attendees included BJP State Executive Member and former Corporator Adv. Moreshwar Shedage, senior leader Dharmaraj Pawar, State Vice President of the Nomadic Tribes Front Kailas Sanap, former Ward Member Vitthal Bhoir, and BJYMO City General Secretary Shivam Dange. The event was coordinated by Harshadh Nadhe, President of the BJP Chinchwad – Kalewadi Mandal.
All the commemorative activities served as a respectful homage to the life and service of Rajmata Ahilyadevi Holkar, celebrating her contributions to religion, social welfare, and civic responsibility.
