The Pimpri Chinchwad Police has taken action against 1,174 vehicles in Pimpri Chinchwad for putting black cover on windows/tinted glass in January 2024.

As per further information from Pimpri Chinchwad Police “Black is not one of our favourite colours, especially on car windows. We put fines on 1174 vehicles & collected a total of Rs 13.87 lakh fine on 1174 vehicles last month (January 2024) for applying dark black window film. If your four-wheeler has tinted glasses, please remove them yourself.”

Netizens have actively commented on this on social media.

An X user says “99% Thar cars and Fortuner cars have dark black films but such cars are usually ignored by the traffic department.”

Another X user commented “But do you take this action on cars of only common people or renowned people as well? A car is always parked at Wakad traffic post, the number plate of the car is not normal (the number plate is in such fine numbers that it can be seen from a distance of only 1 foot), the windows of the car are black. Are the rules the same for everyone?”

Another X user said “Well done, have noticed that PCMC has the most tinted glasses even on the front wind screen. Bravo!!!”

Another X user tweeted “Sir, with due respect, can you take action on sarpanch’s and goons’ cars. You surely do a great act with simpletons but with so called ‘Bahubali’, why the problem. Law needs to be treated equally.”
