Pimpri : Now, cloth bag vending machine installed in Chinchwad Gaon Vegetable Market

Pune: On the occasion of International Plastic Bag Free Day on July 3, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) inaugurated a Cloth Bag Vending Machine at Chinchwad Gaon Bhaji Mandai. It was also declared as free from plastic.
As per information from Yashwant Dange, Assistant Commissioner, PCMC Health Department, a certificate for the plastic-free vegetable market was given to the President of Chinchwadgaon Bhaji Mandai. Also, every person present was urged to make the city plastic free. People were also requested to participate in Swachh Survekshan 2023 and help the city get the first rank.
The citizens were explained the harmful risks that plastic poses. Also, a demonstration of the vending machine was given and cloth bags were distributed.
The program was attended by health inspectors, representatives of IEC AGENCY – AIILSG, representatives of Matrix as well as employees of the PCMC health department.
