Plot Sale Scam In Wagholi: Case Registered Against Three For Rs 2.8 Crore Fraud
A case has been registered at Lonikand police station against three individuals accused of cheating buyers of approximately Rs 2.8 crore through the fraudulent sale of a plot in Wagholi, despite the land being under the ownership rights of another company, with its sale prohibited. The plot, named Arohi Park, was sold under false pretenses.
Deepak Asaram Palaskar (34), a resident of Wagholi, along with 18 others, lodged a complaint leading to the registration of the case. The accused have been identified as Chandkant Ramchandra Sanglikar (56), resident of Pune, Yogesh Balasaheb Katke (40), and Sukhdev Suresh Gawde, both residents of Wagholi.
According to the police, Palaskar and the other complainants purchased land in Arohi Park in 2021. At the time of the purchase, Sanglikar provided a purchase letter for 71 names, but these names were not recorded on the seventh passage, a crucial step for the official land registration process. Despite waiting for two years, the plot holders found no record of their purchase.
On July 7, 2023, Palaskar attempted to check satbara and discovered that the land was registered under PACL company as per the Justice Lodha Committee report. The plot holders, realizing the discrepancy, approached Katke and Gawde, who arranged a meeting with Sanglikar. However, Sanglikar responded dismissively, claiming he would remove the note but took no action.
The plot holders had paid for the land via cheque to Sanglikar. When it became clear that the land registration would not proceed and the Satbara would not be updated, they approached the police and filed a case of fraud.
The police are now investigating the matter, aiming to bring the accused to justice and recover the defrauded amount.
