PMC allows schools to reopen classes for 9-12 from January 4

Pune Municipal Corporation on December 24, 2020 issued orders allowing schools to reopen classes for Standard 9-12. 
The orders issued by Vikram Kumar, Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation has laid down several guidelines to be followed by the school authorities. The sports and education department of the state government of Maharashtra have formed certain guidelines for the schools to follow which are mandatory.

1. The schools should have all the facilities to follow Covid19 Health guidelines such as markings for social distancing, posters or flexes depicting the messages of washing hands, wearing mask compulsory, etc. 
2. School vehicles should be sanitised before and after children use it. 
3. Classrooms and other premises must maintain cleanliness. 
4. While arranging assembly, minimum distance of six feet must be maintained
5. Classrooms must be ventilated. No classes shall be held in closed rooms 
6. Undertaking from parents must be taken for children to attend the schools. 
7. One student on one bench must be seated. 
8. All teaching as well as non teaching staff must be present in the school from December 28,2020. 
9. All teaching and non teaching staff should get their RT-PCR test and submit their negative test report to the zonal Medical officer and school authorities. The onus of verifying all the above guidelines must be done by supervisor, secondary high school, Education department. 
10. Schools must have thermal gun, sanitisers and other precautionary measures. 
11. Strict implementation of the guidelines issued by the Sports and education department on November 10, 2020 must be followed. 
Violators failing to follow the guidelines are liable for action under Disaster management ACT 2005, section 51-60 and IPC section 188.
