PMPML and Pune Railway Division spearhead drive to promote voting awareness

Ahead of the impending polling day for the Pune Lok Sabha constituency, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has initiated an awareness campaign aimed at boosting voter turnout in the city. Senior officials at PMPML have revealed that the drive includes the dissemination of announcements at major bus stops equipped with public announcement systems.

These announcements, which have commenced at prominent locations such as the Pune Municipal Corporation, Pune railway station, and Kothrud, among others, serve to remind citizens of the importance of exercising their right to vote. Additionally, PMPML is exploring methods to convey election-related messages within buses, targeting daily commuters as part of their efforts to raise awareness.

Highlighting the significance of voter participation, an official from PMPML emphasized that all employees have taken a pledge to prioritize voting and ensure their presence at the polling booths on the designated day, without fail.

Moreover, at the Pune railway station, similar messages stressing the importance of voting are being broadcasted. Given the substantial influx of passengers due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, particularly with numerous summer special trains in operation, railway officials are actively contributing to the drive by amplifying awareness efforts among commuters.
