PMPML restarts it’s BRTS buses on Katraj Swargate Hadapsar route from February 5

Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited on February 5, 2021 revamped it’s Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) on Katraj Swargate Hadapsar route which existed but was non functional for many years.

Since the routes have again activated, BRTS lane will only have BRTS buses and ambulance. Other vehicles are strictly not allowed to run from this dedicated lane for BRTS buses.

Bus stops on the left side shall have checkers for the next eight days and shall guide the passengers to move onto the stops which have been created centrally. PMPML has deployed it’s security staff at the bus stops which shall urge other than PMPML vehicles not to use the dedicated BRTS lane.

If any vehicle enters the vehicle in the BRTS lane they shall be first informed requesting them to use the regular road and not BRTS lane. The second offence will mean to strict action.

Katraj Swargate Hadapsar BRTS has 223 buses which takes around 2946 trips everyday, which means 2.8 buses every minute run on this route. A total of 2,18,527 passengers use the service. This will also mean that the traffic on this route shall increase and including State transport buses no other vehicles shall be allowed. Only ambulance shall be allowed.

The newly planned Katraj Swargate Hadapsar route has ten bus stops shall have information boards being displayed. For passengers safety alluminium sliding doors have been installed. Soon, automatic sliding doors shall be placed. Each bus stop will have information boards using maps. CCTV surveillance systems shall be used at the stops for the passengers safety. Disabled people can easily walk from the catwalk tiles. LED light fittings shall be installed in the evening which will illuminate the bus stops. In future, tickets shall be made available through QR code systems.
