Dr Suhas Diwas, Pune District Collector has made an appeal to the political parties to cooperate to conduct the Lok Sabha general elections in a calm and peaceful environment. He was speaking at a meeting of political party representatives held at the collector’s office.

Deepak Singla, Election Returning Officer of Maval Lok Sabha Constituency, Kavita Dwivedi, Election Returning Officer of Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency, Ajay More, Election Returning Officer of Shirur Lok Sabha Constituency, Meenal Kalaskar, Deputy District Election Officer etc. were present in the meeting.

Dr. Diwase said, the administration has completed all the necessary preparations for the elections. Adequate manpower has been appointed. Political parties are being informed at every stage of the election process. Necessary precautions have been taken for EVM security. Fixed and floating teams have been activated since the announcement of the election and the information about the action will be filled on the ESMS app.

Information about large amounts of transactions from the bank will be taken. There will be a separate mechanism to monitor paid news. Action will be taken if vandalizing public property or promoting without permission in private space. Political parties should follow the instructions given by the Election Commission of India regarding the model code of conduct.

Necessary facilities will be provided to disabled and elderly citizens to vote. It is emphasized that the entire election process will be transparent. Pune district has a tradition of holding elections in a peaceful atmosphere. He appealed to the political parties to cooperate to maintain this tradition and conduct elections in a free environment.
