Surendra Kumar Agarwal, the grandfather of the teenage Porsche driver involved in the fatal accident in Pune, was brought to the Pune Police Commissioner’s office for questioning.

His son, Vishal Agarwal, a builder and owner of Bramha Realty and Infrastructure, is already in police custody for allowing his minor son to drive the luxury car, which resulted in the deaths of two IT professionals in Kalyani Nagar on May 19.

Officials informed, that Surendra Kumar Agarwal is being questioned in connection with the same case. When approached by media personnel, Agarwal stated, “We have full faith in the justice system. We are cooperating.”

Surendra Kumar Agarwal is also implicated in a separate CBI case involving the alleged hiring of underworld don Chhota Rajan to kill Shiv Sena leader Ajay Bhosale in 2009.

The teenage driver, who was involved in the deadly crash while driving a Porsche Taycan under the influence, was released on bail within 15 hours of the incident. The bail order specified that he was released on the assurance of his grandfather, who promised to keep the teen away from “bad company.”

It has since emerged that the grandfather, who is believed to have established the family’s real estate business, has connections with gangster Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje, also known as Chhota Rajan.

The 2009 case involves an attack on Shiv Sena corporator Ajay Bhosale. According to the CBI chargesheet, Surendra Kumar Agarwal was involved in a property dispute with his brother and allegedly sought Chhota Rajan’s intervention. The gangster contacted Ajay Bhosale, who knew Agarwal’s brother, but Bhosale, preoccupied with Assembly elections, declined to intervene.

Believing that Bhosale was supporting his brother, Agarwal allegedly asked Chhota Rajan to eliminate the Shiv Sena leader. The chargesheet details that Bhosale’s car was shot at near Pune’s Koregaon Park, but the bullets missed him and injured his driver instead.

The ongoing investigation by the Pune Police aims to uncover the full extent of Surendra Kumar Agarwal’s involvement.
