Power supply of 77,000 consumers from Kondhwa, NIBM road, Katraj resumed after 20 hours

Pune city experienced intense spell of rains on the eve of October 17. The rainfall which began at 9.30 PM on October 17 ended at around 2 AM on Octobee 18. Heavy water flow led to accumulation in the basement parking areas of various societies affecting the power supply. More than 11 power lines of 22 kV were disrupted due to rains. Areas such as Bund garden, Parvati, Rasta Peth and Padmavati areas were affected majorly.  Power restoration work started at October 17, 9.30 PM and ended on October 18 evening at 4 PM. 

Intense spell of rain caused power disruption in many areas including NIBM road, Sahyadri Park, Salunkhe Vihar road, Kondhwa, J K park, Kumar Pruthvi, Kakade vasti, Nandadeep Society, Serena society, Dharmavarat Petro pump, Shantiban society, Bhilarewadi, Gangadhar, Wadekar Nagar, Saibaba nagar, Katraj, Padmavati, Sankla society and Iskcon temple. The roadside feeder pillars, ring man units, meter box were submerged in water which led to power disruption.  This forced strain on the power supply lines and to ensure safety the power supply was switched off. 

Over 77,000 consumers were left without power since it started raining heavily. MSEDCL informed that on October 18 morning till 8 o clock power supply of over 70,500 consumers was restored while the rest of 6500 consumers was restores by 4 PM PM October 18. The MSEDCL personnel worked relentlessly even in the heavy rains throughout the night.
