Pune : The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has recently launched an online registration system for pet animals, making it easier for pet owners to register their furry companions.

PMC chief veterinary officer, Dr Sarika Funde, said, “The online registration system has been operational for the last two months and has already received a good response. Over 1,500 pet owners have registered their pets online, whereas, in the offline mode, only 3,500 registrations were recorded.”

Dr Funde has encouraged pet owners to follow the necessary registration process, which requires residential proof with a NOC document, passport-sized photos of the pet from the front, left and right view, and photocopies of the pet’s vaccination certificate.

The annual fees for registration are Rs 50/-, and if a pet owner has more than one pet, each pet has to be registered individually. All documents should be self-attested and at a maximum size of 2 MB, with acceptable document formats being jpg, jpeg, png, and pdf.

The online system is a convenient way for pet owners to register their pets, and Dr Funde has emphasized that pet registration is mandatory under the law. Pet owners can visit the PMC official website and opt for the citizen login to proceed with the pet registration process.
