The work for a new integrated terminal building (NITB) at the Lohegaon based Pune airport by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is currently underway and is scheduled to be commissioned in September 2023.

The NITB is being built to be energy-efficient, and is projected to be a 4-Star GRIHA-rated building and has a project cost of ₹475 crore.

The Airport Authority of India had previously announced that the work will be over by January 2021 but unfortunately, the work did not complete and is now set to complete by September 2023.

The swanky NITB will be centrally air-conditioned and feature five passenger boarding bridges, 34 check-in counters, and an in-line baggage handling system. Additionally, the NITB will have 27,000 sq. ft. of space for food and beverage and retail outlets, as well as other modern facilities to ensure passenger comfort.
